My son started racing flattrack at the a ge of 5.His first helmet was a cheap one becouse we diddn`t know any better. It wasn`t long we relized that the quality of a helmet is everything. Most everone we spoke to said the same Arai is the best money can buy.My son now is a road racer and reaches speeds up to 180 mph.We buy a new helmet every year becouse we need back up helmets in case of a fall and the helmet won`t pass re-teck.My son has never truly tested the quality of a arai helmet and I hope he never does.On July 19th at Susquehanna Speedway (a half mile clay track) my sons good friend Allen Fogel A.K.A Bubba 11 years old did test the quality of a arai helmet in a big way!!! Bubba lost control of his cr 85 and fell, before he could get up he was struck by another motorcycle in the head travling between 45 and 55 mph.The foot peg got lodged between his upper lip and the inside of the helmet dragging him in a tangled mess under the bike when the foot peg broke off the frame and relesed him.Bubba has multiple fractures, internal injuries and some broken bones that will heal in time. His upper jaw was fractured where the foot peg came inside the helmet, his cheek bone was fractured and he had the biggest black eye I`ve ever seen, there was no bleeding on the brain. Bubba is alert and in good spirits thanks to his dad making the decision to buy a good quality helmet like Arai.Things happen when you chose to compete, nobody plans to fall or crash so be prepaired with the best safty equipment you can have.Bubba had a chest and back protector custom thick leathers, race gloves , boots and an Arai quantum 2 full face helmet.Becouse he had all of his safty equipment on he is alive!!!!!!!
